MEET ELIZABETH

A warm thoughtful place to understand yourself more deeply.

I'm Elizabeth McAdam, a Licensed Professional Counselor and Certified Perinatal Mental Health professional offering virtual and in-person therapy. I'm passionate about offering women a space to feel heard and navigate the unique challenges that can arise on the journey to and through motherhood.

I especially love helping women understand themselves more deeply and connect with their own inner wisdom as they navigate the inevitable highs and lows along the way.

Meet Elizabeth McAdam, LPC. I am so glad you found this page. I'd like to introduce myself and tell you about postpartum mental health.

A DEEPER WAY OF WORKING

Your experience may feel complicated.

I draw from evidence-based practice in perinatal mental health and Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help you understand the different thoughts, feelings, and impulses that can emerge during pregnancy and motherhood. As we slow down, notice patterns, and make connections, you can begin to relate to these parts differently and develop greater trust in your own inner guidance.

I love my child
I feel resentment
I want another baby
I'm terrified to go through it again
I want help from my partner
I want control over how things are done
I want to parent differently
I keep repeating the same patterns

These experiences don't mean something is wrong with you.

They are opportunities for understanding. In our work together, we slow down, notice patterns, and develop inner guidance so change comes from within.

You don’t have to abandon yourself to be a good mother.

Being a mother doesn’t mean your needs go to the bottom of the list. Therapy can support you in not just surviving the hard days, and learning to trust yourself again.
